The Canadian alt-rock group began with teens, Ed Robertson and Steven Page, classmates in high school who bonded over their love for Peter Gabriel. The duo released their first tape, Buck Naked, in 1989 in their basement, which incorporated humor and guitar riffs but found no success. In 1991, they recorded The Yellow Tape, a demo of original music featuring the final lineup of the group. The tape was only sold at Barenaked Ladies concerts and it became the first independent release by any Canadian band to achieve Platinum status in that country. Barenaked Ladies tour dates were booked on major festivals including South by Southwest in the US and they were subsequently picked up by Reprise Records who released their major label debut - Gordon.

The Barenaked Ladies were on the verge of becoming one of the biggest acts in Canada with the release of Gordon. The album spawned six hit singles on Canadian radio including "Enid", and was certified Diamond. Barenaked Ladies tour dates were booked throughout Canada, but success in America eluded them. They then released Born on a Pirate Ship, and toured North America to tepid success. They finally scored success in the US with their 1998 album, Stunt. This album featured the infectious #1 single "One Week" and was certified four-times Platinum becoming one of the biggest albums of the year. Barenaked Ladies tour dates were scheduled throughout the States, and this time around they were a hit!

Since releasing their biggest album to-date, the group has continued to record and score radio hits. They released Maroon in 2000, and Everything to Everyone in 2003, to coincide with their PeepShow Tour. In 2007, the Barenaked Ladies performed concerts aboard a cruise for fans called the Ships and Dips. The Barenaked Ladies floating tour dates were so successful that they have scheduled the event three more times since the inaugural outing. More recently, the Band released their latest album, All in Good Time, in 2010 which debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart. Barenaked Ladies tour dates have been scheduled to promote the disc since its release. They emerged as one of the funniest and clever artists of the past decade. Better Than Ezra formed in 1988 when all original members were studying at Louisiana State University. Better Than Ezra tour dates were scheduled throughout Baton Rouge, to generate buzz for their demo tape. The band released an independent album, Surprise, in 1990 and toured vociferously to support it. However, tragedy befell the group when lead guitarist, Joel Rundell, committed suicide. Better Than Ezra immediately halted plans for continued touring and recording in light of the tragedy. They regrouped in 1993 to record Deluxe, in 1993 and independently released it gaining an almost immediate following that included major labels and millions of fans. After four years of constant touring, Better Than Ezra signed with Elektra Records and the rest is history.

They reworked and released, Deluxe, shortly after being signed and scored a #1 single, "Good", in 1995. Of their success, frontman Tom Drummond stated "It took us seven years to get signed and then seven weeks to get to No. 1." Better Than Ezra toured extensively to promote the disc and scored a Platinum plaque. They released their sophomore set, Friction Baby in 1996, How Does Your Garden Grow? in 1998, and continued to tour extensively throughout the decade. KT Tunstall: KT Tunstall has brought back a female edginess to the rock/folk format not seen since Alanis Morisette and "You Oughta Know". The Edinburgh, Scotland native was adopted by a Scottish physics professor and his teacher wife who reared her in an intellectual, albeit musically absent, household in her native Scotland. Due to her father's job, KT was afforded the ability to live in several university towns including UCLA during her childhood. She attended the prestigious Kent School in Connecticut where she performed locally and even spent time on a commune in Vermont. Her eclectic background prepared her for her life as an indie musician when she returned to the UK. After hearing about KT through scouts, UK based label Relentless Records offered the young singer a recording contract. She turned it down in favor of an American contract, however, the deal fell through and she found herself back with Relentless Records.

Relentless Records took their time cultivating what they felt would be their breakout star. She released her debut album Eye to the Telescope in 2004 and it became a hit, despite its slow burning commercial rise. The lead-off single "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" became highly successful on British radio airplay. The song took off in the US after Katherine McPhee performed it on American Idol in 2006, thus catapulting the song to the top of the charts in the US. The single reached #1 on the US Adult Contemporary survey and remains Tunstall's biggest US hit to-date. The album was certified platinum in the US and Tunstall was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2007 for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

Tunstall followed up with an acoustic album, KT Tunstall's Acoustic Extravaganza in 2006 which featured material from her debut. She released her sophomore album Drastic Fantastic in 2007 to critical acclaim. The album debuted in the top ten in several countries including the US and UK and featured the single "Hold On". KT Tunstall's concert schedule included performances at all the major US talk shows including Ellen and Jay Leno. Additional KT Tunstall tour dates were booked at the Hogmanay Edinburgh Concert in 2007 and the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in 2007.

Tunstall released her latest album Tiger Suit in 2010. She recorded it in Berlin at Hansa Studios, the famed venue where David Bowie produced Heroes. KT Tunstall tour dates were booked in support of the album. Currently, KT Tunstall's concert schedule includes an international tour throughout 2011.
