Join Baltimore-Matanzas Association and Friends of Latin America (formerly Howard County Friends of Latin America) for a night of simple Cuban-style food and discussion about the Cuba Friendshipment Caravans and what Cuba is like. Gail Walker, Executive Director of IFCO/Pastors for Peace, will speak.

Guest Speaker Bio: Gail Walker worked with IFCO from 1987-2002 as the Director of Communications and co-lead the 1988 IFCO delegation to Nicaragua that resulted in the formation of the Pastors for Peace project. During her 15 years at IFCO she lead a number of delegations to Central America and Cuba and staffed countless Cuba Friendshipment caravans.

After years of working as a journalist and communications professional in print, video and radio, Gail returned to IFCO as Director in 2011. Under her direction IFCO staff have organized several US-Cuba Friendshipment caravans and educational delegations to Cuba. IFCO has also continued to faciliate the process of dozens of US students to study medicine in Cuba under full scholarship and to expand its role as a fiscal sponsor for grassroots organizations working for social justice. Gail brings both a strong knowledge of the organization’s history and a deep understanding of community organizing and IFCO’s mission through her years as an activist and organizer.
