Annapolis Striders 10th Annual B&A Half Marathon Training
THE ANNAPOLIS STRIDERS PROUDLY ANNOUNCETHE 10th ANNUAL B&A HALF MARATHON TRAINING A 12-week build-up program for half marathon runners FIRST SESSION: 7:30am Saturday, January 7, 2016, JONES STATION PARK AND RIDE. This low-key program will guide the participants from a base of 6 miles up to a long run of 14 miles in 12 weeks. The goal will be for all who complete the program to be able to complete the Striders B&A Trail Half Marathon on Sunday, March 26, 2017 or an alternative half marathon around the same timeframe. You must sign up for the race on your own. Prerequisites Annapolis Striders membership and ability to run 6 miles comfortably (at a conversational pace). Not quite there yet? Let us know and we will help you get there. Sessions Weekly: each Saturday at 7:30am. We will run from the Jones Station Park and Ride onto the B&A trail race course and back. Water/Gatorade will be provided every few miles, but you must provide your own cup. Those who can't attend the session should strive to do the runs on their own. All paces will be represented. We will provide a detailed training plan in December, along with weekly email updates and a Facebook page. Program Includes: A detailed 12 week schedule. How to build up for the half marathon, injury prevention and treatment, running safety, and keeping running fun. Information on appropriate winter running attire will also be provided. The B&A Trail has generously allowed us to hold this program on the trail. We must follow all B&A Trail rules. Information on trail running safety and parking will be provided.
