Body and Soul: An American Bridge
Through interviews with historians and music enthusiasts, Body and Soul: An American Bridge examines the fascinating history of this timeless jazz song’s and illustrates the complex musical interplay between Jewish and African-American cultures. Created by Jewish composer Johnny Green in 1929, the song was introduced on Broadway by Jewish torch singer, Libby Holman, and ushered into the jazz canon by Louis Armstrong.
